Beverly Jean Paith, 79, of Lees Summit, MO passed away, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street in Independence, MO 64055. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to Alzheimer’s Research. Beverly was born February 6, 1931 in Kansas City, MO the fourteenth of sixteen children to Benjamin and Pearl (Sharon) Vochatzer. She has been a lifelong area resident and had graduated from Northeast High School in 1947. She had worked for COOP, Kansas City Life and Mack Truck before retiring in 1993 after 17 years in the clerical dept for the City of Independence Water Department. She enjoyed word puzzles, painting and music. She was married to Archie Paith in 1949; he preceded her in death in 2004. Survivors include; a son, Barry of the home, who cared for her for the last 6 years of her life; her faithful dog Rebok; 2 sisters, Delores Robinson of Raytown, MO and Lora McGhee of Shelbyville, TN; 3 brothers, Frank Vochatzer of Gladstone, Jack Vochatzer of Pleasant Hill, MO and Fred Vochatzer of Cedar Wolly, WA; her beloved sister in law, Marguerite Vochatzer of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Paith in 1978. Bev had an infectious smile and knew no strangers. Many thanks to Thelma who was her senior companion for the last 5 years.
