Marie Palmer

Marie Palmer, 84, Independence, MO passed away May 31, 2009. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 am, Thursday, June 3, 2009 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6- 8 pm, Wed. at Speaks Suburban Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Marie was born Aug. 13, 1924 in Hoven, SD. Her family moved to Des Moines, IA when she was a child and she graduated from Lincoln High School there. She moved to Independence, MO in 1966. Marie worked as a real estate agent and later retired after ten years at Heakin Research. She was a volunteer at MCI and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the American Contract Bridge League, Red Hatters and the St. Mark’s Women’s Club.
Marie was preceded in death by brothers Joseph Malsam and John Malsam. She is survived by son Rick Palmer; Tom Palmer, both of Independence; John Palmer and wife Cheryl, Hutchinson, KS; brother George Malsam, Wheaton, IL; grandchildren Kristen Pugh and husband John; Kyle Palmer; Kimi Palmer; Kelly Palmer; Travis Palmer; Lindsey Palmer; Chaun Palmer; great-grandchildren Kyler Palmer and Wesley Pugh.
