November 30, 1929 — August 13, 2009

Mary Maxine Palmer, 79, Independence, MO passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice. Mary was born November 30, 1929 in Wheatland, MO the daughter of Charles and Grace (Bartshe) Dickenson. She was employed with Wilcox Electric and retired after 20 years with Lake City Ammunition. Mary was a member of the Coventry Baptist Church. She enjoyed being with family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Dickenson and Birdie Day; brothers, Harold, Abe, Merl, John, Earl, Clark and Bill Dickenson; and her parents. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Hoyt D. Palmer; children, Carolyn Andrews and her husband Roger of Preston, Donald Palmer and his wife Linda of Independence, and Charles Palmer and his wife Nora of Independence; seven grandchildren; LaVonne Engeman and her husband Myron, Brian Dean Johnson and her wife Tina, Dela Palmer, Jason Palmer and his wife Stephanie, Jennifer Timlick and her husband Jeremiah, Rebecca Andes and her husband Dusty and Leslie Pollard and her husband Joe. 10 great grandchildren; and brothers, Roy Lee, Robert “Bob”, and Jim Dickenson.
