Ronald Allen Palmer, 64, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 at his home. Ron was born October 11, 1946 in Oklahoma City, OK to Herschel and Theresa (Lepak) Palmer. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Oklahoma City University before beginning his career as a parts manager for a truck dealership, having recently been promoted to the Director of Procurements. Ron enjoyed genealogy and “trucking” with his dog Woodrow, but more than anything, Ron adored and loved his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him for his dry sense of humor and honest and humble nature. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Herschel Palmer and is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cindy Palmer of the home; children, Kristen Palmer of Oklahoma City, OK and David Palmer of Houston, TX; mother Theresa Palmer; brother Darrel Palmer; mother-in-law Isabel Daniel; sisters-in-law Betsy Daniel and Susan Daniel-Droney and her husband Steve; mentor Harold Copeland; two honorary grandchildren, Auston and Nina; and a host of extended family and many friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 31 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence. Additional services will be held in Oklahoma City at a later date. The family suggests contributions to Harvesters, 3801 Topping Ave., Kansas City, MO 64129.
