Pamela Jane Haggard

July 5, 1957 — November 3, 2023

Pamela Jane Haggard, known affectionately as Pam, passed away on November 3, 2023, in her hometown of Independence, Missouri. She was born on July 5, 1957, to her loving parents, Oscar and Esther Knight, in Kansas City, Missouri. Pam's deep connection with her family laid the foundation for a remarkable life that was marked by compassion, resilience, and unwavering love.

Pam attended Truman High School and proudly graduated as part of the Class of 1975. She believed in the power of education and instilled this value in her own children. After completing her studies, Pam embarked on a fulfilling career at Western Auto for 15 years before transitioning into the role of Project Manager at Sprint. Her professional accomplishments were undoubtedly noteworthy, but it was her dedication to her family that truly defined her legacy.

As a mother and grandmother, Pam's gentle guidance left an indelible impact on those fortunate enough to have known her. She had an innate ability to listen attentively to others without imposing advice upon them. Her children often sought solace in knowing that their mother would provide a supportive ear whenever they needed it most. Pam wholeheartedly believed in the potential of her children and consistently encouraged them to pursue their dreams.

Pam's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She had a heart overflowing with kindness and always thought of others before herself. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she delighted in sharing her crafting talents through handmade gifts. Pam's crafting prowess was renowned among friends and loved ones who cherished the sentimentality infused within each piece she created.

In addition to crafting, Pam found joy in various hobbies and interests. She had an artistic inclination which found expression through painting and creating wreaths. Her creative flair even extended into the digital realm as she skillfully designed captivating slide shows. Traveling was another passion that enriched Pam's life, and she particularly adored the beach. From diving for shells on the Gulf coast, exploring the charm of Paris, to fearlessly swimming with sharks in South Africa, Pam approached every adventure with an insatiable curiosity and a zest for life.

Pam leaves behind a treasured network of beloved family and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Pam's daughters, Larissa Theison and Rachel Haggard, were the pillars of her world. Their unwavering bond was a testament to the profound love that Pam poured into her role as a mother.

Larissa and her husband Chris, along with their children Kodiak and Quinn Theison, will forever be grateful for Pam's immeasurable impact on their lives. Rachel also mourns the loss of her remarkable mother while finding solace in the countless memories they shared together. Lance Haggard, Pam's ex-husband turned close friend, remains an integral part of the family unit as they navigate this difficult time together.

Pam's sister, Lora Houston, played an integral role in her life and stood as both a confidante and source of unwavering support. Lora's husband Brett further enriched Pam's life, alongside their children Grant and Claire Houston. Together, they formed a bond that will never fade in the wake of their beloved Pam's passing.

Preceding Pam in death are her parents, Oscar and Esther Knight; her dear companion for many years, Henry "John" Lewis; and her Grandma Ann.
