Wayne Parker

Wayne M. Parker, 72 of Independence, MO passed away, Sunday, May 1, 2011 at St. Luke’s on the Plaza. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Christ United Methodist Church 14506 E 39th Street South Independence, MO 64055-4200. Donations may be made in his name to Christ United Methodist Church. Wayne was born October 13, 1938 in Walpole, MA to Elmer H. and Grace E. (Mandigo) Parker and graduated from Wolpole High School in 1958. He had proudly served in the US Air Force from 1955-57. He had worked as a salesman for a lighting company for a number of years before he retired. He enjoyed playing golf and was an accomplished musician who could play multiple instruments and sing. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a men’s golfing group. He was married to Linda (Rudy) in 1965, she preceded him in death in 2005. He later married Linda (Nichols) in 2006, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; his children, Ernie Parker, Johnny Parker, Troy Parker, GiGi Parker, Wayne Potvin, Larry Parker and Rick McComb; a brother, Richard Parker, 26 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A brother, Lawrence Parker, preceded him in death.
