Patricia Ann Betteridge

August 8, 1931 — January 12, 2026

Patricia Ann Kaiser Pummill Betteridge, 94, passed away on January 12th, 2026, at her home in Independence, Missouri.

Pat was born in California, Missouri on August 8th, 1931, to Golder and Esther Bernice (Neiderwimmer) Kaiser.

Pat was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri.

Pat graduated from California High School in 1949, where she was active in music and drama, and a member of the cheerleading squad.

Pat graduated from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri, in 1951, later receiving her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and Masters Degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

Pat married Eugene “Gene” Pummill of California, Missouri, in 1952, having a daughter, Toni Sue, in 1953.

Pat remarried in 1996 to William “Bill” Betteridge of Pilot Grove, Missouri, until his passing in 2024.

Pat had a lifelong love and interest in art and drawing since childhood and taught Secondary Art and Photography in the Raytown, Missouri School District at Raytown South High School, retiring after a 25-year-career.

An award-winning artist, Pat was active in the Kansas City arts community and an integral member and officer of several art organizations, participating in numerous exhibitions

and showings, while receiving various awards and recognitions for her collective work of paintings.

Pat’s love of music led her to study voice, later participating in choral groups during college, and later as a member of the “Singing Notable’s, a group consisting of retired teachers.

Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Pummill; second husband, William Betteridge; parents, Golder and Bernice Kaiser; and brother, Charles David Kaiser of St. Joseph, Missouri.

She is survived by her daughter, Toni Pummill Pine and husband David of Blue Springs, Missouri; grandson, Joshua Pine, of Blue Springs, Missouri; sister, Carolyn Walker and husband, Virgil of Austin, Texas; sister, Linda Flippin and husband, Paul of California, Missouri; along with several nephews, nieces and family members.

Pat will have a visitation on Saturday, January 31 from 12-1 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1 pm.

The family is sincerely grateful for the care given Pat by the entire team of Simply Home Companion & Personal Care, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care of Independence, Missouri; and to Pat’s loving grandson, Josh Pine, for residing with her at her home, and caring for “his best friend”, sharing stories, watching “Antiques Roadshow and “Shark Tank” episodes, and enjoying the last several months of her life together.

After cremation, Pat will be laid to rest along with her late husband, Bill, at a later date at the Masonic Cemetery in Bunceton, Missouri.
