John J. Paul, 84 of Independence, MO passed away, Monday, August 10, 2015 at Kindred Hospital. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to Sisters Servants of Mary, 800 N. 18th St. Kansas City, KS 66102. John was born October 6, 1930 in Kansas City, MO to John Patrick and Marie (Pfeifer) Paul and has been a lifelong area resident. He retired from the KCPD after a distinctive 30 year career in which he was highly decorated for his service. He proudly served as a Navy fighter pilot during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Survivors include; a son, Johnny Paul and his wife Trisha of Belton, MO; a brother, Robert Paul and his wife Marilyn; 2 grandchildren and his loving friend and companion of 33 years, Pat Hastert.
