Mary was born February 4, 1936, in Hodge, Mo to Harmon & Bessie White. She was born and raised on a farm. She enjoyed school and sports. It was in her early years of helping with family chores that she developed her ability to cook and bake. Baking was her way of trying to make difficult times in people’s lives brighter.

It was in her early married life with a husband and two boys that she and the family were invited to church by a concerned neighbor, Harvey Hackett. It was there that her family became involved in church and in 1965 her family helped establish New Hope Baptist Church. It is there she spent the last 57 years, serving in the choir, nursery, and church events which included coordinating church dinners.

After the passing of her parents, she joined the local Independence Garden Club which brought her much joy and new friendships. Her green thumb developed from her early farm life was a great help in her gardening experience.

Mary’s favorite time of the year was Christmas. She enjoyed baking, shopping, and sharing during this time of the year. Hallmark Cards was her favorite place to shop before and after Christmas as her debit card could account for. LOL

Her love of prophetic scriptures kept her tuned to current events and studying her bible. It was not uncommon for Mary to ask her pastor, son, and others about current events. Mary had a burden to tell others about Jesus Christ and their need to be born-again. Always ready to pray for others and invite them to church. If she were here today, she would give you a gospel tract because of her concern for your eternal life.

Mary is survived by: 3 sons, Harold J.
