Steven Ray Payton, 53, Independence, MO passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010 from a long battle with liver cancer.
A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church; 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd. Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM Tuesday at the church.
Steve was born August 5, 1956 in Frankfurt, Germany the son of Virgil and Raenelle Payton. He was employed with Home Depot for 12 years and later served two years as a Correctional Officer for Jackson County. Steve was a member of St. Mark’s Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, mushroom hunting and he especially loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy; children, Chris, Matt, Andy and Sammi Osmun, Jennifer Street and Nichole Cane; several grandchildren; three brothers; two sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
