Pearl Marie Freeze passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on July 17, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, laughter, and lifelong friendships. Born on November 10, 1934, in Independence, Missouri, her vibrant spirit and warmth touched the lives of countless individuals. Pearl graced this world with her presence for 90 extraordinary years.
Her lifelong passion for education began after graduating from William Chrisman High School. Pearl pursued further education at Graceland College, where she not only earned her associate degree but also met the love of her life, Ronald Freeze. On December 17, 1955, they made vows that resulted in a 65-year adventure of love and devotion. Later, Pearl continued her academic journey at Central Missouri State University earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. During her 25 years as a 1st grade teacher at Thomas Hart Benton Elementary, Pearl was known for her warm and welcoming hugs that greeted students each morning. Pearl created an atmosphere of comfort and excitement for learning. She was well-loved by her students and colleagues alike, fostering deep and lasting friendships that long outlived the school years.
Above all else, Pearl LOVED HER FAMILY! She was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. She opened her home to all of her family & friends. These occasions were filled with lots of food and laughter. Her delightful sense of humor and ability to connect with everyone around her made her the life of every party.
Pearl’s faith played an essential role in her life. She was deeply involved in her church, leading women's groups, teaching Sunday school, and volunteering at church camps. Her commitment to her faith reflected her love of our Heavenly Father. The community benefited from her dedication to service and nurturing those around her.
Pearl's passing was preceded by her parents, Harry and Pearl Ward; her best friend and beloved husband of 65 extraordinary years, Ronald Freeze Sr.; their son, Stephen Lynn Freeze; and 10 brothers and sisters. Pearl's legacy of love, laughter, and learning lives on through her sons, Ronald Freeze Jr. (Cynthia) and Phillip "Flip" Freeze (Susan); her grandchildren, Alexandria Freeze-Brandon, Milana Perry, Aaron Freeze, Katelyn Kenwright, Brianna Freeze, and Gabrielle "Abby" Mercer; her great grandchildren, Alexis Perry, Claire Perry, and Weston Perry; and her sister, Ruth Thomas.
A memorial visitation will be held at Oak Grove Restoration Branch (1203 N Broadway St, Oak Grove, MO 64075) on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 9-11 am, followed by a celebration of life beginning at 11 am.
