Eliasar H. “Charlie” Peña, 65 of Grain Valley, MO entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Golden Living Center. A rosary will be recited beginning at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012 followed by a celebration of his life from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. Cremation will follow the services. Charlie was born March 13, 1946 in Nixon, TX. He had worked as a mail clerk for the Kansas City, MO Post Office downtown for 35 years until he retired in 2007. He enjoyed walking, music and socializing with family and friends. He was catholic by faith and had attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kansas City. He proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam from 1964-68. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Josephine Peña; 7 children, Cindy, Monique, Eli, Julie, Melanie, Staci and Joe Mike; 6 grandchildren, Morgan, Romen, Gabriel, Isaac, Isa Jo and Olivia.
