Bryan J. Pennell, Sr., 76, Independence, MO passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Carmel Hills Health
Care Center. Services will be 10 am, Monday, March 11 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Hidden Valley Church of Christian Union, 17500 Hidden Valley Rd., Independence, MO 64057.
Bryan was born Feb. 16, 1937 in Mack’s Creek, MO, the son of Rev. William and Ruby Pennell. He married the love of his life, Patricia C. Combs on May 20, 1960. He was a U.S. Army veteran and they spent two years living in Germany. He worked for the Independence School District for 26 years and retired in 1998.
Bryan was preceded in death by his parents and youngest son, Brent Pennell. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years Pat Pennell; daughter Cindy Gosney and husband Kelly; son Jay Pennell and wife Nena; daughter-in-law Sandy Pennell; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and another on the way; sister Willa Mae Thomas and husband Bob; nieces, nephews and friends.
