Penny Lynn Fellers, aged 70, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on August 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be cherished by all who knew her. Born on February 26, 1955, in Maysville, Missouri, Penny lived a full life dedicated to her family and community.
A proud graduate of Osborn High School, Penny spent a remarkable 35 years working at J.C. Penney's Distribution Center. Her commitment to her work reflected her diligence and reliability, traits that she also embodied in her personal life. Penny was known for her loving and generous nature. She had a profound love for animals, often extending her kindness through donations to the Independence Animal Shelter. As a member of the Dream Machine Car Club, she spent many weekends doing community service activities. In her free time, she found joy in watching soap operas and game shows, and camping with her family. As Silver Dollar City season ticket holders, Penny and her husband, Dennis, delighted in taking their family on trips to the amusement park, creating lasting memories that would be treasured for years. This love continued in later years while taking the grandkids to enjoy it as well. Penny was an amazing chef and was always sure her household's bellies were full of a fresh, home-cooked meal. Penny's family was her proudest accomplishment and greatest joy. She embraced the roles of wife and mother from an early age, nurturing her loved ones with unwavering affection and commitment. Her family held a special place in her heart, as she constantly prioritized their happiness above all else. Penny's passing was preceded by her parents, Frank and Adeline Karr (Chase), and her siblings, John Karr, Donald Karr, Jimmy Karr, Melvin Karr, and Mildred Chase (Karr). Her legacy of love lives on through her children, Raymond Fellers (Jenny), Dennis Fellers Jr. (Rehana), Danny Fellers (Nicki), Rachel Thrall (Matt), and Amy Fellers (Vada); her grandchildren, Shelby Blissett (Cody), Haley Spease (Aaron), Austin Fellers, Jessica Fimbrez, McKayla Stone (Cole), Madeline Fellers, and Caden Fellers, as well as many great-grandchildren; her siblings. Dean Karr, Verlin Karr (Bobbi), Frank Karr, Larry Karr, David Karr (Lynda), Harold Karr (Sally), Denny Karr (Gayle), Eva Pettipier (Karr), and Juanita Ross (Karr).
The celebration of Penny's remarkable life will be held on August 21, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the East Independence Church of Christ, located at 2020 Route 291, Independence, MO 64057. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor and remember the vibrant life of a truly extraordinary woman.
