Joyce W. Peoples-Armstrong, 90, of Independence, MO passed away October 17, 2020. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Burial at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Joyce was born December 16, 1929 in Independence, MO to Henry and Goldie Mae (Farris) Wingate. She graduated in the 1947 class at William Chrisman High School. She worked at Sears as a salesperson and Western Electric as an inspector. She was a Den Mother of Cub Scout Pack 356; and was a committee person for Boy Scout Troop 356. She belonged to the Mid-America Coca-Cola Clan. She loved reading to children at West Rock Creek Elementary. She also enjoyed gardening; and absolutely loved time with her nieces and nephews. Joyce was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles Peoples Sr.; second husband, Ronald Armstrong; son, Charles Peoples Jr.; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Heather Peoples; and seven siblings. She is survived by her two sons, Steven Peoples (Velma) and Paul Peoples (Dianna); grandchildren, Dennis Peoples, Jason Peoples, Sarah Masoner, Christopher Peoples; Brandi Robinson, Mollie Coonce, Susan Peoples, Misty Walter and Jessica Forest; one sister, Marilyn Honeyball; and ten great grandchildren.
