Sherry Perleth, 59, of Oak Grove, MO passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on February 10, 1956 to loving parents John (deceased) and Maxine Deckard, now of Blue Springs, MO. She is survived by her husband, Greg Perleth and her daughter, Jamie O’Malley of the home. Other survivors include her sisters, Leslie Kimbrell of Lee’s Summit, MO, Carol (Susie) Facklam of Columbia, MO and Gloria Deckard of Miami, FL, and a large and loving family including numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, a daughter and two grandchildren, Luke and Morgan Sales. Sherry dedicated her life to helping others and to caring for abandoned and abused animals. She was always there to help family and friends. Whenever someone needed her, she was there. She founded two animal rescue organizations and made a home for dozens of animals who needed her special attention. Working with a network of others in the rescue community, she saved the lives and found adoptive homes for hundreds of dogs, cats and horses. She also loved to garden and to design and reconstruct homes. She filled every minute of the day, always busy with activities that contributed to making things better. Her enthusiasm in all her activities was infectious. She will be greatly missed by all who were touched by her and her works. In accordance with her wishes, there is no memorial service. Sherry wanted everyone to continue to celebrate life and bless the time she was able to share with them. In her honor, please pass along a kindness to others.
