Betty Ruth Perry, 89, Lee’s Summit, MO, formerly of Independence, passed away Dec. 20, 2014. Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, Dec. 30 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 am before the service at the chapel. Betty was born July 5, 1925 in Independence and lived there until she moved to Lee’s Summit twenty years ago. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in the Class of 1943. She worked at the Standard Oil Refinery in Sugar Creek and later at the Allis–Chalmers plant. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and volunteered in the Genealogy Dept. In her spare time she enjoyed ceramics and made vases, plates and statues. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Jim Perry; sisters Dora Adlard and Dorothy Lindsay; brothers John Adlard and George Adlard. She is survived by sister-in-law Opal Adlard, Sibley, MO; eight nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
