Lois Ruth Phillips, 69, Independence, MO passed away unexpectedly Nov. 11, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm, Sat., Nov. 17, 2007 at Community of Christ Village Heights Congregation, 1009 N. Farview Drive, Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Outreach International, P.O. Box 210, Independence, MO 64051.
Lois was born Nov. 5, 1938 in Independence. She graduated from William Chrisman High School and took many college courses. She worked for over twenty years at the General Services Administration and retired in Dec., 2006. Lois was an Elder in her church and served on the Planning Committee, sang in the choir, and worked at Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the Messiah Choir. Lois was a cherished wife, beloved mother, loving grandmother, precious sister, true friend and a woman of faith.
Lois is survived by her husband of fifty-one years Kenneth L. Phillips, of the home; daughter Laurie King and husband Jeff, Grain Valley, MO; son Michael Phillips and wife Kathy; daughter Debra Karr and husband Troy; son Keith Phillips and wife Susan; brother Lloyd Hurshman and wife Phyllis; sister Audrey Porter; special cousin Tammy Hoover and husband Jay; all of Independence, MO; grandchildren Ammon, Amber, Andrew, Michael Jr., Elizabeth, Richard, William, Nichole, Danielle, Chase, Craig, Zachary, Trevor Aiden; great-grandchildren David, Austin, Dakoda and Travis.
