Victor N. Pickett, 87, Blue Springs, MO, passed away Dec. 18, 2011. Services will be 10 am, Thursday, Dec. 22 at Timothy Lutheran Church, 425 N.W. RD Mize Rd., Blue Springs, MO 64015, followed by a graveside service with Full Military Honors at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, MO. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055.
Victor was born June 23, 1924 in Putnam, County, MO. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He worked many years for the Sedalia School District before moving to the Kansas City area and working for Farmland Industries. He retired from Farmland in 1989. He was a member of the church. He was huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved to hunt, fish and work in his vegetable garden.
Victor was preceded in death by his son-in-law Eric Bruce Johnson. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years Minerva Pickett, of the home; daughter Melinda (Pickett) Johnson, Blue Springs, MO; son Randy Pickett and wife Cheryl, Newburgh, IN; grandchildren Nick Johnson and wife Becky; Justin Johnson and fiancé Stephannie Choate; Trevor Johnson and wife Rachel; Olivia Johnson; Carissa Pickett; Aundrea Pickett, David Pickett; and many nieces and nephews.
