Daniel Allen Piedimonte, 86 of Buckner, MO passed away, Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Shangri La Nursing Home in Blue Springs, MO. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, First Congregation at 2820 M-291 Highway, Independence, MO 64055. Daniel was born October 3, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA to Angelo Michael and Minnie (Esposito) Piedimonte. He graduated from high school and later received an associates degree from Graceland College. He had worked for a number of years in the banking industry as Vice President of the Trust Department. He enjoyed building model ships, the ocean and boats and most of all spending time with his family. He was a member of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, First Congregation where he was an elder. He was also a member and former president of the PSWD #16. He owned Venice Villa, the first Italian restaurant in Independence and later Buckner. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He is survived by; his loving wife, Hilda of the home; 2 daughters, Delores E. Burgess and husband Rick of Spring Branch, TX and Bonnie Lynch and husband John of Buckner, MO; 2 sons, Michael Angelo Piedimonte of Bates City, MO and Robert Walter Piedimonte and wife Sandra of Buckner, MO; 11 grandchildren, Sonia, Nicholas, Dustin, Danny, Eric, Gina, John Jr., Jennifer, Anthony, James and Derek and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; a son, Daniel Edward Piedimonte in 1972; a granddaughter, Samantha Christine Piedimonte in 2008; 3 brothers, Edward, William A. and Joseph and a sister, Jean Rickman.
