Chris Piper

Chris Piper, 78, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Regency Care Center. Cremation. Private family services were held. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice. Chris was born August 12, 1927 in Hammond, IN to James and Mary (Tangalos) Piper. Mr. Piper was a member of the Amalgamated Lithographers of America and the Heart and Sole Mall Walkers. Chris was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was passionate about golf and his life revolved around the game of golf. Mr. Piper enjoyed reading in his spare time and could always be found with a crossword puzzle in his back pocket. Mr. Piper is survived by his sister Tess Lambader of Platte City, MO; nieces Beverly Stone and husband Don, Sylvia Bauman and husband Delbert, Sandy Ryan and husband Larry; and a host of great nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by his parents; uncle Pete Tangalos; sisters Georgia Graham, Virginia Sealy; brother Harry Piper.
