Martin Poffenbaugh, 57, of Independence, MO passed away May 12, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery. Marty was born July 2, 1950 in Toledo, OH to Donald and Elizabeth Poffenbaugh. The proudest day of his life was the day his Sugar Pie Natalie was born. Marty’s passion was having a lawn, envied by all. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. Marty loved his family heart and soul. He was my north, my south, my east and west. My working week and my Sunday rest. My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song. Marty is survived by his loving wife, Becky (DuVall) Poffenbaugh; one daughter, Natalie Poffenbaugh; one brother, Don Poffenbaugh and wife Carol; three sisters, Janice Connors and husband William, Carol Blalock and Gayle Brumet; as well as two special friends, Nelson Allen and Kathi Ford.
