James Pollard, 50, of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully on October 9, 2014 in his sleep. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, October 13 at Timothy Lutheran’s south campus; 301 Wyatt Rd. Blue Springs, MO. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14th at the church. Burial will be at Floral Hills, Raytown, MO.
Jim was born December 4, 1963 in Independence, MO as one of two children to Larry and Ruth (Hull) Pollard. He was a 1982 graduate of Mexico High School, Mexico MO and a 1986 Graduate of Devry University. Jim was employed for 21 years by DST systems in Kansas City. Jim adored his girls and provided them with security, knowledge, and more love than one could imagine. He was a member of Timothy Lutheran where he often could be seen strumming to his air guitar during worship. He had a wide variety of interests including golf, guitars, riding his motorcycle, coaching his daughters’ teams as their #1 fan, and following the Blue Springs South High School Jaguar’s sports. Any project he tackled around the house was certainly done to perfection. Jim was humbly willing to help anyone without boasting. The pride he held was for his God, his country, and his family.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 25 years, Donna; daughters, Mirannda and Sierra, all of the home; mother, Ruth Pollard of Mexico, MO; and sister, Lori Davis of Independence, MO. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Pollard; and parents-in-law, Barbara and Don Flippin. Other survivors include sisters-in-law, Sharon (Larry) Jennings of Warrensburg, MO; Peggy (Roger) Scott of Tucson, AZ; brothers-in-law, Mike (Edna) Flippin of Albuquerque, NM; and Jim Flippin of Independence, who was his very best friend; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
