Judith Margie Porter, 74, of Independence, MO died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at her home. Cremation is planned with a memorial visitation to be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. A memorial service will be held in Eugene, Oregon, at a later date.
Judy, as she was called, was born on September 23, 1940 in Elkton, OR, the daughter of Ted and Mildred Taylor. Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by husband L Denzil (Denny) Porter of Harrisonville, MO; daughter, Tani Miles and husband Kenny of Lone Jack, MO; son Terry Porter and wife Susan of Freeman, MO; grandchildren, Amanda Toft-Murphy and husband Wade; Eric Toft and wife Casey; Christine and Michael Porter; great grandchildren Jadyn, Jared, Jacob and Sophie; sister Janice (Jan) Standeford and husband Les; brothers Richard (Rick) Taylor and wife Keryl, and Robert (Bob) Taylor; nieces and nephews Dana Fuller, Suzi Little, Scott and Natalie Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Harvesters Community Food Network or the American Diabetes Association in her memory.
