William Potter, 81, of Independence, MO. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. service to follow on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. William was born March 4, 1930 in Bosworth, MO to John L. and Stella M. (Dawson) Potter. He retired from the Teamsters, and worked for many years as a truck driver for McLean Truck Line. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. William was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hale, MO. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret Potter; 12 brothers and sisters; and great grandson, John Patrick Farris II. William is survived by his daughter, Connie F. Farris and husband John; son, William L. Potter Jr.; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Sue Harden and Dorothy Grossman; as well as many other loving family members.
