Suzanne Provin, 86, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, May 2nd 2013. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7th at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E 39th Street, Independence. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Coffey Cemetery, Coffey, MO.
Suzanne was born May 18, 1926 in Daviss County, MO the eldest daughter of Doyle D and Mabel Lea (Tunnell) Knott. She graduated from Coffey, MO High School in 1944 and moved to Kansas City after graduation and attended the K.C. Secretarial School. She married H. Ray Provin on December 26, 1946 and moved to Independence, MO where she lived until her death. She worked for Remington Arms Co. at Lake City Arsenal retiring in 1985 after 34 years. She was a chartered member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Independence. During her life she enjoyed yard work, oil painting, antiques, travel, and especially her family. Suzanne is loved and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Provin on September 18, 1983; sister, Carralee Siddens; brother, William F. Knott. Her survivors include, son, Lonnie Dexter Provin and wife Sherry of Independence, MO; and beloved grandchildren, Daniel; Loni and her husband Chris.
