Horace Jay Ramsey

Horace J. Ramsey, 85, passed away quietly at his home in Independence. Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Speaks Suburban Chapel; burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will precede services from 9-10:00 am Saturday at the Chapel. Mr. Ramsey was born December 24, 1921, in Plainview, TX, to Jesse and Jessie (Jennings) Ramsey. He had lived in Independence for many years and had been a machinist and tool & die maker at Bendix and made specialty parts for automakers. He loved to work on cars, had built his own home, and enjoyed traveling. Mr. Ramsey was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Ryan) Ramsey, in 1991. He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Wheeler and her husband Joe, Bates City, MO, Beverly Buchan, Independence, MO, and Brenda Singleton and husband Mitch, of Independence, MO; and his sister, Mary Faulkenberry, Lone Jack, MO.
