LaVare Mae Randol, 92 of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, November 25, 2013 at Villages of Jackson Creek. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni, IA. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Donations may be made in her name to the Woods Chapel Community of Christ, 500 NE Woods Chapel Rd, Lee's Summit, MO 64064. LaVare was born June 9, 1921 in Lamoni, IA to Oval and Anna (Delong) Thomas. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines, IA she later moved to Denver, CO and back to Des Moines before moving to Independence, MO. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed playing the piano and was an accomplished oboe player. She was a long time member of the Community of Christ and currently attended the Woods Chapel Community of Christ. She was married to Warren Randol on June 29, 1941; he preceded her in death in December of 1990. She is survived by; a daughter, Sandra Tobis of Olathe, KS; a son, Richard Randol and his wife Kendall of Barnegat, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Betty E. Randol of Independence, MO; a sister. Katherine Bates of Blue Springs; 6 grandchildren, Todd, Joe, Michael, Matthew, Samantha and James; 3 great grandchildren, Taylor and Sydney Tobis and Rachel Watson; 3 nephews and 2 nieces.
