Wilbur Richard Reagan, 81, Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 6, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society; American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Foundation.

Wilbur was born November 24, 1927 in Kansas City, MO the son of Gaylord Nelson and Doris Kathleen (Williams) Reagan. He started at the age of 12 throwing newspapers for the Kansas City Star, and retired in 1989 as Director of Circulation. Wilbur enjoyed all kinds of sports and spent a lot of his time either umpiring, officiating, or refereeing the various games from Little League up to High School Sports in Independence. He was known by his nickname “Red”. Wilbur attended Birchwood Baptist Church. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann (Richardson) Reagan in 2004; son, Christopher Reagan in 2006; brother, Ralph Reagan and his parents.

Survivors include his children, Patricia Hickman of Blue Springs; Deborah Freund and her husband William of Lenexa, KS; Linda Denker and her husband Dennis of Lee’s Summit; Stephen Reagan and his wife Karen of Independence; Michelle Couch and her husband Bryan of Blue Springs; Lisa Oyler and her husband Michael of Lee’s Summit; daughter in law, Jana Reagan of Lee’s Summit; 22 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Juanita Sims; and brother, Robert Reagan.
