Dorothy E. Reynolds (Curry)

Dorothy E. Reynolds, 93, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, March 22nd, 2015. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26th at Trinity Presbyterian; 1400 Sheley Rd., Independence, MO. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
Dorothy was born December 14, 1921 in Independence, MO as one of three children to Albert and Sarah (Wood) Curry. She attended Northeast High School and received her Associates Degree at Kansas City Junior College. She worked for Lake City Army Ammunitions during WWII until her family was transferred to Flint, MI, where she worked as an inspector in a tank factory. Afterwards, Dorothy worked for TWA where she met her beloved William E. Reynolds, Sr. They married on June 14, 1946 and together they raised five children. In the late 1950’s, she worked for Selection Sales doing home shows for children’s toys. She started as a sales associate, then coordinator, and finally achieving rank as a District Manager before retiring. Dorothy is a life long member of Trinity Presbyterian. She started her participation at a young age in the youth band, was a bible school coordinator, and supported the women’s circle. She is remembered for her love and devotion to her family. Dorothy will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include daughters, Evelyn Richards and husband Mike; Jeanne Kuntz and husband Bob; son, William E. Reynolds, Jr. and wife Martha; brother, Harold Curry; grandchildren, Stephen Richards, Julie Wildschuetz, Stacey Carrow, Brian Kuntz, Eric Reynolds, Sarah Reynolds-Thomas, Nathan Reynolds, Jade Magee, Jackie Reynolds, John Reynolds; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sons, John A. Reynolds and David L. Reynolds; grandson, John W. Reynolds; and a brother, Ralph A. Curry.
