James Rice

James Edward Rice, 55, of Independence, MO, passed away, Sunday, December 23, 2007 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday evening at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. James was born November 27, 1952 in Independence, MO to Harry E. and Joan (Gibbons) Rice. He has been a lifelong resident of Independence, graduating from Truman High School in 1971. He worked as an electrical expediter for Staco Electric in Grandview for a number of years. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. local #124. He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking and barbequing. He is survived by; a daughter, Kelly Rice of Blue Springs, MO; a son, Travis Rice and his wife Ashley of Blue Springs; 3 grandchildren, Marcie Rice, Ethan Rice and Ashton Rice and his former wife Margie (Griffin) Rice of Blue Springs, MO.
