Velma Lucile Rice, 69, Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. 64055.
Velma was born June 13, 1943 in Argyle, Michigan the daughter of Marvin and Pearl (Kitchen) Morgan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cornerstone Community of Christ Church. Velma enjoyed knitting and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Rice in 1990; sister, Laura Hockaday; brothers, Calvin, Clarence, and Elwin Morgan.
Survivors include her children, Barbaray Clinkenbeard and husband Dave, Fred Rice, Michael Rice and wife Sherry, Gardner Rice, L. James Rice and wife Candy, Roxann Kosmicki and husband Alexander; grandchildren, Michael Rice and Josephine Kosmicki; brother, Stanley Morgan and additional nieces, nephews and family.
