December 16, 1917 — April 13, 2009

Lucille Richard, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 at her home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2009 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice. Lu was born December 16th in Blairstown, MO to Ami and Mary Frances (Johnson) Barnard. She moved to Kansas City during WWII where she worked at the Lake City Ammunition Plant. The pride of her life was working for many years at St. Luke’s Hospital scheduling surgeries. Lu was loved and respected by her many colleagues. Mrs. Richard is survived by her daughter Carmen McIlwee and husband Marshall; son Barry Richard and wife Barbara; grandchildren Brett Richard, Damien and Marc Couch, and Courtney McIlwee; great-grandchildren Wesley, and twins Mia and Alexa. Lu is also survived by special friends Dave and Debbie who watched over Lu in her home!
