Richard Walter Toedebusch

Richard Walter Toedebusch, 79 of Grain Valley, MO passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the University of Kansas Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with cremation to follow.  The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m., until service time Sunday at the chapel.  Donations may be made in his name to Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Heartland Regional Chapter, 4224 S Hocker Dr, Independence, MO 64055.  Richard was born May 10, 1944 in Wentzville, MO to Walter W. and Evelyn E. (Nagel) Toedebusch and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1961.  He had worked for Asplundh Tree Company for 20 years in St. Charles, MO, Wentzville, MO and Independence before he retired from there as a general foreman in 1986.  He then worked as a florist from 86-91 and then a school bus driver for Blue Springs School Dist. from 1991-2021.  He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and most of all spending time with his family.  He grew up on a farm and spent time with his daughters in 4-H showing horses.  He is survived by; his loving wife of over 58 years, Rita of the home; 3 daughters, Michelle Modereger and husband Brian of DeSoto, KS, Stacy Denham of Independence, MO and Julie Frazier and husband Jeff of Buckner, MO; 2 sisters, Diann White of St. Charles, MO and Lois Boeger and husband Richard of Warrenton, MO; 6 grandchildren, Charles Modereger (Chalin), Katie Fisher (Josh), Jesse Frazier (Brooke), Jacob Frazier, Jaret Frazier and Myia Denham and 8 great grandchildren, Camden, Carsen, Camille, Donald James, Corbin, Maddison, Jace and Kollyns.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Neal Toedebusch, a son-in-law, Aaron Denham and a brother-in-law, Truman White.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.speakschapel.com (Arrangements: Speaks Suburban Chapel (816) 373-3600)
