Dewey was born Oct. 26, 1947 in Kansas City, KS and graduated from Van Horn High School. He worked at Armco Steel for thirty-two years until his retirement in 1998. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and a Scout Master. He was a member of the Steelworkers Union. Dewey was a jokester who loved hanging out with his many friends, fishing, his dogs, going to horse races and casinos. He was a huge fan of the Royals and Chiefs. Dewey was preceded in death by two sons and a sister. He is survived by his wife of thirty years Pat Ridpath, of the home; daughters Nicole Ball, Blue Springs, MO; Penny Nakano and husband Kenneth, Kansas City, MO; sister Maxine Dorrell and husband Tex, Garden City, MO; grandchildren Lauren, Emily, Kiyoko and Alexander and many other family members.
