Robert "Bobby" Cummings, a beloved figure known for his vibrant personality, passed away on January 11, 2026, in Independence, Missouri. He was born on October 3, 1958, in Buchanan County, Missouri. Bobby’s spirit was as bright and lively as the music he cherished, and he will be remembered for both his feisty demeanor and his surprisingly sweet side.
Bobby was a man who was never afraid to speak his mind, often referencing his caregivers and housemates with a playful jab, calling them "punks." His straightforwardness was part of what made him so unique; he embraced life with an unapologetic honesty. Those who knew him were often graced by his fiery charm, which sometimes came with a grumpy exterior but was always balanced by his loving heart.
His love for music was great, and he especially enjoyed watching movies that featured a lot of music, such as "Sing" and "Pitch Perfect." Bobby found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was watching his cartoon favorites like Snoopy and SpongeBob or relishing in cozy moments spent lounging in bed. His playful spirit extended to playing ball and his enthusiasm for Croc shoes.
Bobby's memory lives on through his housemates and caring staff at CBC.
A memorial visitation celebrating Bobby's life will be held on January 19, 2026, at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
