Robert (Bob) Lewis Hunter. I was born in 1948. Son to Peggy and John, brother to Donna, Kathy, and Patty. I had a great childhood; boy scouts, baseball, and bikes.
I went to Van Horn High School, Class of '66. I volunteered for the draft in 1969. I flew helicopters in Vietnam; I did okay. I was killed in Vietnam and died half a century later from complications related to Agent Orange. I was a Chief Warrant Officer. I retired from the Army/MONG after 20 years.
I was a partner in a small sub-contractor shop. Commercial construction is full of folks who lie, cheat, and steal daily. I was a natural. I retired in '09.
Margaret and I were blessed with John and Sebastian. My boys give me great joy.
I Married Bonita (Bonnie) Waters-Jewell in '98. Our love was wonderful. Great step-kids: Brice, Keri, Kierstan, and Jason. Bonnie passed away on March 6, 2014. I miss her every day.
I married Barbara (Bobbi) Kalinski-McConnell on December 13, 2016. We are very much in love and best friends. Bobbi and I take Bonnie and Larry (Bobbi's late husband) with us every day.
For many years, we split our time between Lee's Summit, MO and The Villages, FL. Golden days with Bobbi. Wonderful step-kids: Amy, Steve, and Russ.
The fastest way to feel twelve years old is to play pickleball. I know my "rotten-no-good" golf group will miss my six dollars. I'm lucky to have terrific in-laws: Pete, Alan, Jim, and Kasi. Wonderful granddaughter, Mia. She will go far. I'm blessed with step-grandkids: Kaden, Avery, Knox, Tyler, Maddison, Ema, Tennessee, Talulah, Jordan, Bailey, and Lilly.
I can't think of a single emotion or experience I haven't had. I enjoyed the good ones and overcame the rest.
I enjoyed praying every (most) mornings. I believe in Jesus Christ. I am sorry for my sins.
I believe I'll spend forever with Bonnie and Bobbi.
I had a great life; lots of joy. Plenty of challenges, few regrets, lucky in love.
