He had worked for over 40 years as an aerospace mechanic for TWA until he retired in 1993. Bob fell in love with music at an early age. He would rock back and forth in his little rocking chair to the beat of the music while his father played the accordion and harmonica. Bob Studied under Nick Rodina and practice wasn’t work to him, but his passion. Bob would catch a streetcar with his garage band, Mandolin and travel where he would jam with older kids. Bob met the love of his life, Genevieve (Cholak) playing at a concert and they enjoyed 68 years before her passing in 2025. Duty called and Bob was drafted into the US Army, stationed in Hawaii where he worked in artillery. Bob and Genevieve would correspond back and forth for 2 years sending letters. When Bob got out of the service, he asked Genevieve to marry him and they settled down and made a home in Sugar Creek, MO. Bob was a member of the Kansas City Tamburitza Orchestra and played throughout Kansas and Missouri at weddings and other celebrations. In 1969 Bob started the Sugar Creek Tamburitzans and taught dozens of children to play in the old school building. This year is the 40th annual Sugar Creek Slavic Festival in Sugar Creek, which Bob founded. Thanks to these pioneers passed down thru generations, are all able to enjoy and keep the music alive, that’s what Bob Pinter wanted. The Sugar Creek Tamburitzans will be performing, Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Sugar Creek Slavic Festival, He was honored to be Citizen of the Year by Sugar Creek in 2007.
