Ilmeda C. Roberts, 85, Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
A celebration of Ilmeda’s life will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 18, 2011 at The Salvation Army Corps Community Center; 14700 E. Truman Rd. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, at The Salvation Army Corps Community Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army.
Meda was born July 24, 1925 in Rosehill, KS the daughter of Clyde and Opal (Henshaw) Cox. She owned and operated a Shelter Insurance Agency with her husband before retiring. Meda spent much of her time volunteering for the Salvation Army. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, but most of all she loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Meda was preceded in death by her husband Peter F. Roberts, Jr.; sons Douglas and Chris Roberts, three brothers and her parents.
Survivors include her son Peter F. Roberts, III; grandchildren, Pat Roberts and his wife Kim, Paul Roberts and his wife Rhonda, and Zac Roberts; six great grandchildren and two sisters.
