Margaret Robinson, 74, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, November 17, 2008 at her home. A visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Friday at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at the chapel with burial at Oakland Cemetery.
Margaret was born July 22, 1934 in Leeton, MO to Clarence and Velma (Parks) Sanders. She graduated from Central High School and then married George O. Robinson, Sr.. To this union were born four children: George Jr., Jeannie, Marty, and John. Throughout her life, Margaret worked for Montgomery Wards and the Leukemia Society, but retired from the Mid Continent Public Library Distribution Center where she worked as an acquisitions clerk. She was a member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary and the Farview Heights Santa Claus Club. Margaret enjoyed doll making and crafts, baking, and bird and squirrel watching, but most of all loved helping people.
Margaret is survived by her children and their spouses: George and Anita Robinson, Jr. of Carbondale, CO, Jeannie and Ron Summers of Independence, MO, Marty and Donna Robinson of Odessa, MO, and John and Julie Robinson of Blue Springs, MO; brothers and their spouses: Bob and Josie Sanders of Bullshoals, MO and Clarence “Shorty” and Sue Sanders of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: Shannon Beau Robinson, Sabrina Gayle Robinson, Richard Summers, Ron Summers, Jr., Lori Summers, Whitney Robinson, Emilie Laky, Patrick Laky, Janae Michele Davenport and her husband Travis; and great-grandchildren, Emily Summers and Aden Summers.
