Gary Lee “Bear” Rogers, 69, Independence, MO passed away Sept. 9, 2014. A memorial service will be at 10 am, Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Nativity of Mary Church, 10021 E. 36th Terr. S, Independence, MO 64052.
Gary was born Aug. 18, 1945 in Hamilton, MO and was raised in Kansas City, MO. He was a graduate of East High School. After graduation, he went into the Army and served three years stationed in Germany. Upon leaving the military, he went to work for TWA/PARS as a computer specialist. He retired after thirty years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Gary is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years Pam Rogers, of the home; daughter Holleigh Dolak and husband Jerome, Chicago, IL; step-daughter Shelley Boggess and husband Tony, Grandview, MO; Melissa Smith; sister Debby Thomas and husband Ray, Harrisonville, MO; grandchildren Audrey & Cooper; nephew Nathan and wife Trisha; great-nieces Hailey & Tiffany; great-nephews Austin, Dustin & Trenton; step-grandchildren Megan, Ashley, David, Christie & Sharon; great-step-grandchildren Mason, Kayden & Bailey. Bear loved his family, friends and his Chevy van. He was a loving husband, father and brother. He enjoyed making etched mirrors for his family. He will be greatly missed but we know he is watching over us.
