Wilma R. (Wilson) Rogers, 94, passed away on December 29, 2014. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 2:00pm, at Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams in Buckner, MO. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery.
Wilma was born on April 15, 1920, in Chariton County, MO to Claude and Cassie (White) Shoemaker. She married Jay K Wilson on March 9, 1938 in Lynn County, MO; to this union were born three children. Wilma worked as a school bus driver for R.W. Harmon & Sons for 27 years (Whizzo), while also taking care of her family, enjoying sewing, painting, canning, baking, and farming.
After the death of Jay in 1991, she later remarried Noah Rogers on October 12, 2000.
She is preceded in death by her two husbands; son, Bobby; sisters, Doris, Opal, and Margaret; brothers, Virgil, Bob, Jimmy, and Dale; and one grandson, Brian.
She is survived by son, Jay and his wife Sherry; daughter, Donna, and her husband, Jack; daughter-in-law, Michel “Mike”; brothers, Russell and Thomas “Sonny”; sister, Betty; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
