Myrtis Marie Rohrs, 84 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Rosewood Health Center. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Mound Grove Cemetery. Myrtis was born January 14, 1931 in Independence, MO to Ralph Walter and Donna Belle (Stephens) Rohrs and has been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from William Chrisman in 1948 and Graceland College in 1951 with an associate degree. Myrtis worked as a secretary and stenographer for Remington Arms at Lake City until she retired in 1987. She enjoyed studying the Book of Mormon, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Community of Christ; most recently attending the Groves congregation. After retirement Myrt volunteered in the library at Gudgell Park congregation, and then as a receptionist at Community of Christ Temple. Survivors include; a sister, Polly Lesh of Independence, MO; nieces and nephews, Ralph Lesh and wife Jan, Nancy Schaub and husband Steve, Lynda Roberson and husband Alan, Carol Bolt and husband Steve all of Independence, MO; 8 great nieces and nephews, and 16 great great nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
