Romana Maria Warner, age 88 years, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM at Speaks Suburban Chapel, located at 18020 E 39th St S, Independence, Missouri, 64055. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

Romana was born on April 26, 1937, in Kansas City, Missouri to Bernard Aguirre Valdepena and Marguerite Katherine Valdepena. She devoted her life to raising her children, surrounding them with love, guidance, and strength. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a mother. She poured her heart into her family and created a home filled with warmth and unconditional love, always placing their needs above her own. She remained a steady foundation for her children throughout her life.

Romana enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her comfort and excitement. Whether she was sitting on the couch playing her poker games, making trips to the boat to try her luck at gambling, or scratching lottery tickets in hopes of a big win, these moments brought her happiness and reflected the joyful spirit that made her so uniquely herself.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Warner, who passed away several years ago and by her son, Robert Guzman, Jr. Romana is survived by her children: Ramon Reynolds, Racardo Reynolds, Regina Myers, Brenda Pfeiffer, Johnny Guzman, Cathy Emmons, Eric Guzman, Jacqueline Botts, and Christina George. She was a proud grandmother to 30 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Valdepena, and her sisters, Judy Castro, Susan Valdepena, and Elizabeth Tamayo.

She will be remembered for her strength, her deep love for family, and the many memories she created with those closest to her. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
