Ronald Leroy Crain, Sr., 88 of Sugar Creek, Mo passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10am until service time Friday at the chapel. Ronald was born April 17, 1935 in Linn Creek, MO to James Alvin and Elva Omega (West) Crain. He grew up in the Linn Creek area and graduated from Camdenton High School in 1953. He relocated to the Kansas City area and went to work for the St. Regis Paper Company until he retired as a line foreman in 1998. He and his wife enjoyed square dancing and was a member of several square-dancing groups including the Grand Paraders. He also enjoyed working with stained glass, tinkering and riding motorcycles. He was a member of the Spring Branch Baptist Church in Independence, MO. He was married to Barbara (Whitworth) on August 15, 1953, and she survives him of the home. Other survivors include a son, Alan Crain and wife Roni of Loveland, CO; a daughter, Debbie Hernandez and husband Manuel of Sugar Creek, MO; 3 grandchildren, Manny, Michael and Chris and 3 great grandchildren, Michael, Jr., Olivia and Adalyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and a son Ronald “Leroy” Crain in 1979.
