Blue Springs

Ronald John Moline passed away on November 16, 2025, in Independence, Missouri, at the age of 72. Born on August 5, 1953, in Oceanside, California, Ron was a person whose life was shaped by both his fondness for mechanics and his enduring love for his family.

Raised in various locations across the country due to his father's military career, Ron eventually called Ottawa home, where he graduated from high school. Though he briefly attended Allan County Community College, it was clear that his true passion lay in the world of mechanics. Ron dedicated his career to this field, working at several auto shops throughout his life, including Major Cadillac, Kwik Auto, and Instant Auto Finance, where he enjoyed the special experience of working alongside his children.

Ron was known for his ornery personality, often bringing laughter to those around him with his jokes and his wit. Never one to remain idle, he spent his days tinkering with cars or tending to housework like landscaping and gardening, with a particular fondness for growing tomatoes. His love for automobiles extended beyond professional bounds; he relished racing cars and was a regular at Heartland Park and KCIR, sharing his passion with his family. Family was at the heart of Ron’s life; he was immensely proud of building a truck with his son, which they both showed and enjoyed together. He cherished family dinners every Sunday, a tradition where the entire family, including the granddogs, would gather. Ron was a talented grill master, known for his delicious BBQ, especially his ribs. Together, he and Valerie created unbelievably delicious rubs for the meats that would be grilled. He and Valerie were an inseparable team. His devotion to Valerie was unwavering, and he found joy in every moment spent with their family, especially during the holidays. Ron’s proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his family.

Ronald's passing is preceded by his father, Ray Moline, and his son, Sean Moline. His legacy lives on through his wife and best friend of 50 remarkable years, Valerie Moline; their children, Heather Hicklin, Patrick Moline (Jasmine), Brian Moline, and Danny Moline; his grandchildren, Devin, Noah, Castiel, and Alisa; his mother, Marian Moline; his brothers, Mike Moline and David Moline; his nephews, James Moline, Craig Moline, Derek Moline, and Cole Moline; and his granddogs, Roxy, Maverick, Molly, and Bodie.

Ron's family will greet guests during a visitation at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri, on November 19, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will take place at St. Mark Catholic Church on November 20, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Mt Olivet Catholic Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
