Ronald Gerald Simsheuser

May 9, 1939 — June 2, 2024

Independence

Ronald Gerald Simsheuser, affectionately known as Ron, passed away on June 2, 2024, in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was born on May 9, 1939, in Weston, Missouri. Ron led a remarkable life filled with love, dedication, and service to others.

In his professional career, Ron’s commitment and work ethic were truly commendable. For 34 years, Ron worked diligently for Armco Steel until his retirement in 1999, as a crane operator.    Ron was also a proud veteran who served in the United States Army. His dedication to his country was a testament to his strong character and sense of duty. In his personal life, Ron was a man of many passions and talents. He was an avid sports fan (particularly loving the Kansas City Royals) and skilled guitarist. Those who remember Ron will recall him humming a tune—country, blues and jazz were his favorites—and strumming his guitar, often with a cold beer beside him.

He adored his family above all else and was their biggest supporter in all their pursuits, especially in sports. His love for his children and grandchildren knew no bounds. One of Ron's greatest joys in life was his beloved wife, Linda. The two were married 54 years and were a beautiful example of love in its purest form. Those who knew Ron remember him as the most generous and kindhearted individual. Ron was a good man, and an even better husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

Ron's passing is preceded by his parents; John and Marguerette (McKinnon) Simsheuser, and his sisters; Charolette Coleman, Lucille Mendez, and Bonnie O'Leary. Ron's legacy lives on through his best friend and loving wife, Linda (Bagby) Simsheuser; his sons, John Simsheuser and William Killham; his grandchildren, Jaycob Simsheuser, Tyler Simsheuser, Luke Killham, Joshua Killham, Jeremy Killham, and Justin Killham; and his brother, Michael Simsheuser. Many great grand children, nieces and nephews.

Services to honor and celebrate Ron's life will be held at the Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence on June 10th at 1:00 PM for visitation followed by a Graveside Service at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens at 2:30 PM.
