Blanche Lillian Rondomanski, 98, of Independence, MO passed away, Friday, March 13, 2009 at Rosewood Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Temple Endowment Fund Community of Christ. Blanche was born January 18, 1911 in Groton, CT to Caleb Franklin and Lillian Christine (Whipple) Crandall. She grew up, spent her early life and graduated from public schools and Business College in Connecticut before moving to Independence in 1943. She worked as a proof machine operator for First National Bank in Independence for 16 years until her retirement. She was a long time member of the RLDS and Community of Christ Church, where she taught Sunday school at the New Walnut Park Congregation. She was active in the PTA in Connecticut and Independence serving as president in both states. She had previously worked as a nurse’s aide for the Independence Sanitarium, a sales clerk at Bundschu’s Department Store, and she supported the war effort by working at Lake City Ammunition Plant. She was married to Zygmund Rondomanski on October 22, 1931; he preceded her in death on January 5, 2000. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lorraine Rondomanski on June 14, 1946. Survivors include: a daughter, Shirley VanRiette and her husband Joe of Independence, MO; a son, Timothy and wife Delores Rondomanski of Independence, MO; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
