Arthur Robert Rose, III, 72, Sugar Creek, MO passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011 at a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Arthur was born December 2, 1938 in St. Louis, MO the son of Arthur R., III and Lucy Marie (Robertson) Rose. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served for 10 years. Arthur had worked for Fred’s Pharmacy and later Omnicare Pharmacy. He retired after 25 years with Yellow Freight as a dispatcher and continued to work for Mercury Direct as a delivery driver. Arthur was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his brothers David and Eugene; sister Lottie Walton and his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife Chona O. Gutierrez-Rose of 18 years; son, Erichson Rose; sisters, Sharon Gann, Bonnie Hernandez, Becky Rathfelder, Mary Rose Wright, Nettie Varnes, Lillie Weaver Goode, Brenda Shaw, Clara Stansberry; step father Ed Dahlberg; step sister, Dedee Dahlberg; family friend, Engeline Louis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
