Jo Rosson

Jo Rita Rosson, 72 of Independence passed away Thu, Feb. 28, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Mon. Mar. 3, 2008 at Rockwood Baptist Church 10035 E. Westport Rd. Indep. MO 64052. Inurnment will be 11:30 a.m., Tue. Mar. 4, 2008 at Sinking Creek Cemetery, Everton, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the St. Luke’s Cancer Institute. Ms. Rosson was born on Aug. 28, 1935 to Orin and Mary (Hankins) Rosson in Springfield, MO. She had been a CPA for many years and was associated with Klahn Tax and Accounting. She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed golf, bowling and softball and was listed in the Missouri Softball Hall of Fame. She was a faithful member of Rockwood Baptist Church and had served on various committees including teaching Sunday school and playing the offertory music on her marimba. Jo Rita was past president of her condo association. She was a proud graduate of Rockhurst College. Jo Rita is survived by a sister, Patricia Long and husband J. Stratton Long of St. Charles, MO; two nephews, Jon Darin Long and wife Michele of Ogden, UT and James Mark Long and wife Erin of Manchester, MO. Four great nieces and nephews, Mark Rosson Long, Reed Sterling Long, Sarah Grace Long and Anna Evelynn Long.
